July is Feed the Bards Month at the Academy of Bards. All they ask is that you CC them (feedthebards@yahoogroups.com) on every feedback email you send a bard during the month of July. The person who sends the most feedback will receive a keen Academy of Bards designed prize and be named fan of the year. Git busy!
July is an eventful month for the Academy of Bards in that it's also Hall of Fame month. This is the second year you'll be able to vote for inductees into the Academy of Bards Hall of Fame. There is one catch, however, nominated stories and writers must be hosted at the Academy. You can see last year's winners here: www.academyofbards.org/halloffame/. So start browsing the Academy and come up with your top 5 writers and top 10 stories and email them to academy_contest@yahoogroups.com. Please vote only once. The gals who run the Academy are wise and will catch you if you cheat. Voting runs until July 28th.
Shari J. Berman, author of Kona Dreams, has been treating the members of her Yahoo group to a fantastic story. She just finished posting the final chapter of Unconditional Love and, as luck would have it, you can still join her group and read the whole thing. Absolutely free!
E recently discovered that a favorite writer of ours has a web site *and* a Yahoo group. Damnation's site (munkee.org/tangled/index.html) has all of her stories collected for your reading pleasure. Once you've read her work and are hit by that 'damn she's good' moment, join her Yahoo group and let her know.
July also happens to be Tanglewreck month at Jeanette Winterson's site. Her web site (www.jeanettewinterson.com) has been updated with information about her new book along with her other usual nifty stuff.
