Movie Saturday

We're all heading out to see the new Indiana Jones movie today. I'm not expecting much. I'm one of those curmudgeons who liked the first one, was annoyed by the second and bored by the third.

Don't forget to vote for your favorite Academy Challenge story (link below).

Weekend is here....

It's a beautiful semi-sunny Friday in Seattle. I'm hoping for a easy weekend, so far no booked out plans. I like that, play it by ear.

The kiddo and I will head to the park after this to play some croquet. Having a small yard means the park a half a block away gets used often. So we'll go take over the empty space and play some croquet.

Now back to your updates, enjoy 'em.

Half Way There

Been a productive few days. Spring is all about. Cleaning, sorting and throwing away. And on top of that I got a cord of wood delivered that I stacked up last night. So my out of shape body is screaming today about how mean I am. And of course work at the moment seems to be in the same mode. Hence recycle and clearing away stuff.

I had actually hoped it would loosen me up a bit but in the end I am only a bit more sore now. Oh well, all good for me and things are starting to look nifty.

Hope you all are also having a productive week. Enjoy one way or another.

Relaxing Long Weekend

Yesterday at my mother-in-law's went swimmingly (pun intended). My brother-in-law even swam and, shock of shocks, removed the ever present headset. My brother and mom came as well. Dad stayed home. We didn't miss him.

Calvin and Duncan swam until the world looked level (as my mom would say). Duncan and I are now well on our way to becoming brown. Cal will tan up a bit but he won't be as noticeably dark thanks to having Mike's skin tone. You never really notice a tan with Cal until he takes off his pants and you see how white his little butt is.

I need to get at least a couple of visits to White Water Bay in before Disneyland. Don't want the Seattle contingent to be disappointed....

Ramble from Phair

I got Lucky, Phair took me up on my whine for a ramble. And this one made me laugh, enjoy.

I'm a Crab just like my Neighbors

You'd think the worst thing about living at the beach would be hurricanes. Or, perhaps, a nor'easter. Or, the isolation during the long, cold winter months. Or, the constant fear that everything you own could be swept into the sea on the next stormy high tide. However, it is none of those things. The worst part of living at the beach is...uninvited guests.

Sometimes they show up, knocking at my door. If I'm lucky it starts with a phone call and a breathless voice saying, "oh good, you're home..." Deep in my heart, I want to throw the phone out the window and crawl under my bed. Instead, I reply, "ya, what's up?" I will then get one of three gut wrenching stories.

1. "Blank and I were just out for a ride and found ourselves at the edge of town..." The fact that the edge of town is the edge of Massachusetts and even the worst driver would be hard pressed to just find themselves at the end of a road ten miles from the nearest highway. "...how 'bout you put on a pot of coffee and we'll pick up the Entenmann's?" Great. I hate coffee and Entenmann's so be sure you get something with raspberries because I'm allergic to those. Thanks, friend!

2. "Blank and I were having a day trip with all the kids but the parking lots are full...," and expensive while my lonely four car driveway sits with only the jeep to keep it company. I must be some sort of fool not to have called you guys first to come down and help fill up the empty spaces.

3. Then there is my personal favorite, "We've been working so hard lately that Blank and I decided to treat ourselves. We had a lovely dinner and a romantic walk on the beach, just the two of us under the stars, and we now we're wondering, could we use your bathroom before we drive all the way back home?" What a terrific idea! My water rates are three times yours rates but who wants to quibble about money on your special night. Should I chill wine to serve you both on the porch so you can continue your absolutely scrumptious evening after you take a dump in my toilet?

I know, you folks are going to think I'm selfish. Well, I am selfish. I do love my family and friends but I LOVE my privacy too. For the first 21 years of my life, I lived in the three bedroom/one bathroom fish bowl of my parents' home with six other siblings. The numbers of roommates dwindled until it was my sister and me during the last twelve years of my parents' lives. My sister and I got very little help during the folks' golden years. My other siblings would drop by from time to time to visit with their wives and kids and we'd make everybody dinner and then get to clean up after they left. Fun, Fun, Fun.

But, that part of my life is now part of my past. I did the work I needed to do to fulfill my obligation for being born and I moved on. Moved on to the beach, that is. I pay the mortgage for it on my ownsome. I care for it on my ownsome. I hold the fort during blizzards and hurricanes by myself with or without running water or electricity. In other words, I do what I'm supposed to do and take care of myself without bothering anybody else.

Ya, I'm a jerk for being bitchy about family and friends. I should consider myself lucky to have any people who love me enough to take advantage of me. And yes, I still let them park in my driveway and use my bathroom. But, deep down inside I can't stop thinking that none of these people ever show up uninvited to just shovel the snow out of my driveway.

Phair
aka Mullaney

Okay, Phair I want to say I completely agree with you and I am just another cranky bitch, hence I would feel the same way.

On to your updates and enjoy!

Memorial Day

It's Memorial Day weekend here in the US, which means the official start of summer for many. Most of the folks here in OKC are off at one of our many lakes enjoying water and sun. For us it means our annual trip to my Aunt's in Lawton, OK and a relaxing Sunday afternoon cookout. We also celebrate my cousin's birthday...she'll be a big 17 this Wednesday. Hard to believe she's not that cute, tow-headed seven year old I first met when my Uncle married her Grandma. He may not realize it but he's damn lucky to have both of them in his life.

Tomorrow we'll go to my mother-in-law's for an actual Memorial Day event and eat still more hamburgers and hot dogs. We'll swim a lot too. My mother-in-law has an awesome pool. By the time we meet up with E and little e in June (Disneyland) we'll be nice and tan and they'll still be sporting winter white.

Weekend is Here

Went and saw Prince Caspian last night with the kiddo. You know these books were fun when I was a kid but now that I'm an adult.... My daughter seemed to enjoy it, so there is that. For me this one was skipable. Oh well, at least I did get to miss the Chipmunks in December.

Summer Break Begins

Finally getting over my cold. Just in time too since the kids are officially out of school today. I also broke down and turned on the damn air conditioning. It's just too muggy and hot right now with no relief in sight. I'll still shut it off in the evenings when it's cool but this way we'll sleep in a cooler house. I'm not looking forward to my summer electric bill. *sigh*

Blah

I've managed to keep my allergies at bay this spring season, which has been really nice. I don't miss the sneezy and watery eyes. That's probably why I'm so frustrated about catching a cold during this heatwave. Sunny and hot outside and I'm stuffy and grumpy inside. Ick.

Unlike Tamara, we're having my kind of weather...Spring rain with sun breaks. A perfect mix. Not everyone at work thought so or at least all the ones grumbling to me today. I smiled anyway.

Now tonight I'm throwing a new author your way, Jayden A. Scott (warning her site seems happier with IE, had some issues with my Firefox). She's hoping for some feedback, so let her know what you think!

Hot!

The heat has hit us here in Oklahoma--91 (32.8 C) today and an expected high of 88 (31.1 C) tomorrow. I'm being stubborn and keeping that air conditioning off until at least the last week of May. I just can't face turning it on this early. Thus begins the time of great suffering at the Hodge Lodge....

Okie's Saturday

E is off at the Storm game tonight along with just about every lesbian in the greater Seattle area--it's opening night. I bet the arena is going to be packed with fans. With no E to chat with this evening I'm going to settle in for a Matrix movie night with the guys. Cal probably won't find them very intriguing (too much talking) but I've been in a mood to rewatch them.

P&P updated as you can see. Lots to read. Enjoy 'em!

Two Years Ago Today

What were you doing? Tamara and I were posting our first Uber Etc. update. Take a look, let us know if we followed through with our hope for the site.

Note that we've refined the updates since then. And our Grunt's Checklist has grown quite a bit over that time as well. We've continued to capture a variety of FF stories across many different fandoms.

Let us know your impressions. We'd love to post some rambles from y'all, give it a try. Send us your thoughts...where were you two years ago?

We've grown a bit over these last two years. From hoping to hit the elusive thousand per month to averaging just under twenty thousand unique hits per month does imply we may be doing something right.

So let us know your thoughts. Even if you don't want to share it's always nice to hear from folks. You can easily email us or leave comment on this post.

Once again thanks to all of you for sticking with us. We've enjoyed it and hope to for many years to come. Have a great night/day.

Now back to it. Enjoy the updates!

Seattle Sunshine

The sun is on its way or that's what they say. Being born and raised here in Seattle I prefer my gray and rain to these potentially hot days. But alas a few days of heat are on the horizon. Pleasing many who surround me. I even have a 7 year old who seems thrilled by the idea of 80-85 degrees F (26.67-29.4 C). Me I will look forward to my yard being happy and the break back to reality, which is scheduled for Monday. My beautiful rain and overcast will delight few and I will be one of them.

Now back to your updates, enjoy 'em.

The Lord of Chaos strikes again....

Yesterday my day started off with a bang. Literally. I woke Cal up Monday morning and we had a nice chat about his short dream wherein I was shooting a rifle at characters from the Land Before Time cartoon. He sat up and was still chattering away when he decided to demonstrate a move from the dream and threw himself back toward the pillow suddenly. Guess what? My head was there. He whacked the front of my head with the back of his and I came out the worse for it.

I was momentarily stunned by immense pain. I didn't lose consciousness but it damn well made my eyes water and I saw stars. After a few minutes I dragged myself up and Cal told me I had a bump. I got up slowly and checked my head in the bathroom mirror. Then I promptly freaked out. Suffice it to say I've never had a blow to the head like this one. Even being beaned in the head by a softball had never brought forth a golf ball sized egg like this one. Ice and ibuprofen brought the swelling down but it was still quite a knot.

Today the knot has gone down a bit and the lovely bloom of bruises are making an appearance. I figure by the weekend it'll look nice and ugly. I'm looking forward to telling people my son beat me up then point to Cal.

Happy Speed Racer...Uh, Mother's Day

It's Mother's Day here in the US, which means a family dinner for us. My mother-in-law recently purchased a new house with her boyfriend of many years and with this new house came the ability to join a country club. Not really my thing but he loves it and wanted to take my mother-in-law, her mother and his mother to eat brunch there today. Since we usually do a meal with moms from both of the families we joined them with my mom and brother. I'm not sure I ate my $25 worth but the food was good and the kids heeded my warning about being grounded for a week if they burped at the table.

After food, my real mother's day present began...we went to see Speed Racer. I'm probably not really the person to listen to since I love all things Speed Racer. I got a Lego set of the Mach 5 for my mother's day present after all. If you're reading reviews of this movie and they tell you it's bad, just ignore them. Speed Racer the movie is total fun...it's not deep or meaningful...just fun. If you've seen the cartoon you'll know what to expect with this movie, but with better special effects. The only thing that could have made it better would be to have an IMAX theater in my town. I'll be buying the extra spiffy edition DVD of this one when it comes out.

Here's to all you moms. Hope you had a good day.

A Long Night

My daughter spent the night awake with a horrible earache. Off to the doctor this morning for some antibiotics. She was diagnosed with bronchitis, sinus infection and otitis media, hence one sick pumpkin. Even the midnight run for eardrops was not helpful.

So after the doctor visit we wound up with a nice long nap. Both of us badly needed it. Another weekend of resting up. Missed the Mother Daughter Tea today, but oh well, this way I got out of actually ironing. Something that I do very rarely.

Now back to our updates and tonight's gives you plenty of room to catch up on any you may have missed earlier in the week. Enjoy!

Home

I survived Special Olympics although I didn't get my no mud wish. Wednesday the kids ran their relay race in the drizzling rain. We counted ourselves lucky, however, because Wednesday afternoon Oklahoma City was hit by some severe weather. Mom even took the kids into the hall closet. Poor Cal was so scared he was shaking.

Thursday's weather was rain free but we had the lovely after-effects of rain...mud. I was prepared with plastic bags for our slog through Olympic Village. My kid took his shoes off to go through the inflatable obstacle course and I didn't let him put them back on until we had exited Swamp Olympic Village. His feet were filthy but socks and shoes were relatively dry.

We managed to make it through all two hours of our Y swim party. No lightning or pool accidents drove us out and the kids were ready for sleep when we returned to the dorms. I love a swimming night that goes well...no showers!

Today we packed everything back up, hung out at a lovely pond on the OSU campus and ate lunch at Hideaway Pizza. I had a much better time this year since last year by the time we hit Hideaway I was well on my way to being sick. The only thing I remember about that lunch was sitting in misery wishing it were over and we were on our bumpy bus ride home. Today though I had a good time with the kids and even read some comics on the trip home.

Now I'm back and pooped. So pooped that I'm amazed I wrote all of the above. If some of it doesn't make that much sense, you'll understand why.

Odd Spring

Seems this years cold spring has brought more than the average share of unhealthy days with it. Home all day today taking care of the kiddo. To bad the Wii wont appear until tomorrow or Friday. Oh well, on to health we go. Tamara is off having fun at the Oklahoma Special Olympics. An event she volunteers for yearly. Today is opening ceremonies and I think the rain may have subdued the excitement a tad bit.

Enough of my rambling, back to your updates. Enjoy them!

Tuesday

The week seems to be flying by. Not due to anything special other than me watching time slip away hoping for the arrival of my new Wii so I can become one of the addicted. Unlike many I don't have cable or any basic tv access. We currently play DVDs only, so this will be a big change.

I rarely use the television currently and that's all coming to an end. So I wait. Good news though, my new toy should arrive tomorrow or Thursday and since I'll be without my online chatting partner I'll have something dandy to do! Tamara leaves for the Oklahoma Special Olympics in the morning, hence you all are stuck with me for a couple of days.

So off you go and enjoy those updates.

Cold Shower

Yippee...a non PG ramble from Black Cherry!
She knows I'm watching...so she puts on a little show. She comes out of the shower, all wet and wrapped up in a towel....but she pulls it off, and dries herself, taking it slow. She caresses her skin with the soft billowy towel. She enjoys the feel of the terry on her skin, she breathes in and out with hedonistic enjoyment. She checks herself out in the mirror; turning back and forth to check her frame. Cups her ass cheeks, smacks them checking for firmness. My mouth goes dry. She moves her hands up and down her body, caressing, cupping her breasts, playing with her nipples, making them hard. She brushes tendrels of her long, soft hair over her breasts, she runs her fingers through her mane, and shakes it, and I throb. She is making me nuts, and I want to do things to her....so I step inside the room. My boots clunk on the floor, and she turns. She sees me, my leather, my tools: rope, handcuffs, floggers, candles, my toys: harness, dildos, lube, spreaders and my wicked, wicked grin. She smiles. I enter.
