End of the School Year

After tomorrow there's just one more week of school. Yay! I know my student is anticipating it as much as I am.

Yesterday we watched the seniors in the Directed Studies (Special Ed.) program graduate. I'm very pleased to be working for a school district that encourages the students to attend high school until they're 21. Some school districts don't. They encourage the kids to graduate when they're 18. Most parents aren't aware that their special education student is legally entitled to a public eduction until they're 21.

It's a good thing my district doesn't do that because I likely wouldn't be employed there if they did. I wouldn't be able to keep my mouth shut and would probably be out of a job.
