E passed on watching In the Blood. Her pick is Philomena. I'll be watching this one with her because I wanted to see it when it was in the theater.

Philomena is a wonderful film. Heartbreaking and rather horrifying in the things the church did and justified, but very moving. Judi Dench gives a sterling performance in the title role.

Philomena was excellent and yes, heartbreaking. E hadn't heard of that particular practice by the Catholic Church but I had so knew what to expect. How horrible to watch your child taken from you never to see him or her again.
