Trip Report

The trip to Olympia went well. Max loved the beach. The kids found a bunch of keen shells. I visited a totally cool comic shop in Lacey (Olympic Cards & Comics). The only bad parts were me forgetting to charge the good mattress inflater and E catching a nasty cold. Little e's grandpa's mattress inflater didn't work so well. This caused Duncan to abandon his mattress and move to the couch. Unfortunately there wasn't another couch available in the room we were all in and E spent the night with her butt on the floor...the cold slate floor. As a result her cold was much worse the next morning and I made the executive decision that we would leave that day instead of spending another night. It actually worked out much better that way. The kids still got to do their beach combing because we left around 6 pm to avoid rush hour traffic in Seattle. We made it home by 8:30, ready to sleep in our own beds. Tuesday we rested and were fresh for work and school on Wednesday. Damn but I love three day work weeks.
