Armistice Day

Armistice Day (or Veterans Day as Americans know it). Ninety years ago today the guns stopped firing and the "war to ends all wars" was over. One quarter of the adult male population of Europe (and the British Empire countries) were casualties. Shame we didn't learn from it and did it all over again a generation later. And we keep doing it.

Here's a glass raised in thanks to the memory of those who fought and died for us. And a hope that those who are out there somewhere, still doing so, will return home safely.

When you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today.
