Ramble from Andi Marquette

Tonight you get a treat! An Author ramble from the one and only Andi Marquette!
Hiya, peeps! 'Tis I, Andi Marquette, the Wizard of Odd. So Elisa, like, wanted a ramble. Now, far be it for me to say no to her, since who the hell can do THAT? I cannot say no to a fabulous woman like her. She makes me WEAK in all the right places...(Tamara makes me weak in all the left places)

Anyway. Let's talk Torquere. Why? Because I now have two published short stories with them and a third that will be released 9 February (and Torquere is really good about deadlines, so if they say that's the day, then that's the day). As some of you probably know, "From the Boots Up" is now available in the anthology Under This Cowgirl's Hat, edited by the fabulous SA Clements through Torquere.

There are several e-book formats available for as low as $6 U.S. or thereabouts but you can also get a really nice paperback copy. I just got mine and...I gotta tell you. I really like the format. Speaking of Meg and Gina in "From the Boots Up," keep yer eyes peeled cuz I ain't done with those two. I do have a novel starring them and I'll be pitching that right quick as soon as I get it cleaned up. More as it becomes available. Teaser available for "...Boots..." at my LiveJournal site.

Oh, for $1.29 U.S. (CAN YOU DIG IT????), you can download another story I have with Torquere, as part of their special and spooky Halloween "Sips" line. The story is called Night Shift.

You can access a teaser for it at my LiveJournal site.

OH, you can also access a rather short NAUGHTY story I posted at LiveJournal. It's called "Gridlock" and you'll find it under the 31October listing. Ze, notice how I did that date just for you, in proper UK/Euro style (you rock, by the way).

The third story Torquere picked up that will be part of their "Single Shots" line is "Some Kind of River." I've been getting a lot of feedback on that one. Folks seem to really like it. Well, you'll soon be able to get your very own copy. WOOOO! And if you hit me up, I just might sign it for you and maybe even put a big ol' lip print on it for you.

All right, so I spent November doing the NaNo thing. For those of you who read the teaser for "Night Shift" and maybe bought the story from Torquere, my NaNo project is a novel starring Martie and Rhi, from "Night Shift." Not really a prequel, but sort of. It's a totally new direction for me, since it deals with paranormal stuff, but it's been a BLAST writing it. You can access an excerpt for the NaNo Thing, as I'm calling it (Chapter 1, as a matter of fact) on my LiveJournal.

Oh, and if you're not completely over my shtick, you can catch me blogging at MySpace. I keep people posted on what I'm up to in terms of writing, in terms of RL, and I pimp stuff I find interesting, intriguing, or just plain funny. And I'll drop stuff in there that I find kinda cool and we'll do some navel-gazing, too. WOOO!

You can also catch me blogging at WOW!, which is women on women, a new slick, hip kinda site. Important tip, amigas/os: Do NOT type "womenonwomen" into your browser. Because the site that pops up for that is SO not work-friendly (do I need to spell that out for you? Women ON women? Hello!) DO type "wowwomenonwomen" into your browser. But if you want to play a joke on people, send them to "womenonwomen." HAR!

Anyway, you'll find some more serious pieces I did there (nonfiction) for a local GLBTQ paper as well as pieces I do that relate to things that may or may not have a damn thing to do with my writing and real life. The latest post, for example, is called "Pack Light" and it's meanderings through the metaphors of journeys.

AND FREAKIN' FINALLY!!!!!!!
If you aren't sure I'm as strange as people think, well you can check out this interview I did with the awesome DK Ward at HER site, QueerGirlTalk.net. God(dess) help you all if you manage to make it through unscathed...

Holy tiptoe through the tulips, Batman...this is, indeed, a ramble. BLAH BLAH BLAH...well, Elisa asked for it. Anyhoo, dang. There you go. Ramblin' along. Holy HELL, what is this lame music on my web radio? I simply MUST change it. It sounds like music from an 80s porn movie.

All right, y'all. Hope all is well with you and your'n, no matter what the hell you celebrate this time of year--or even if you don't (which is more MY style ).

Remember, don't play with matches and keep it real, yo.

Yers in struggle,
andi

p.s. read everything you can by Fletcher DeLancey. She is the BOMB. I'm hooked on her Without a Front

Let the wizard of odd know what you thought! Now back to your regularly scheduled programming. Enjoy.

Elisa
