Running Late

Started checking the sites a bit late this evening, (watching Olympics coverage and lost track of time), and there were rather a lot of updates so it got a little later still. In fact it's half-past midnight now - and I have to be up for work in five hours... so I'm not going to say much tonight.

One thing though. Last Friday - did you notice anything?? Apart from the fact that it was a nauseating, sentimental celebration designed by florists, card manufacturers, and chocolatiers to make loads of money. Which has nothing to do with the (probably mythical) saint it's named for. Who if he did exist died a horrible death.

No?? You didn't??

Well - You all did see that on the Lupercal I thrice presented him a kingly crown. Which he did thrice refuse.

Yeah - It was also the ancient fertility rite of Lupercalia. Which probably has more to do with the day than the aforementioned saint.

What?? You mean you didn't run naked through the streets walloping random strangers with a goatskin?? Tsk, tsk - no spirit of adventure. *g*

There you go - things you might not have known - and didn't give a toss about anyway.
