Lost souls

The events of the past week don't really lend themselves to a cheery little ramble for tonight.

A right-wing religious-fundamentalist fanatic completely ignores, (as religious fanatics tend to), the sixth commandment of the faith they claim to follow, and butchers a whole lot of kids. And I really don't get that. (Not that I understand religious fanatics anyway, or people who think that killing is an acceptable form of political dissent). But why kids?? Kids aren't government. Kids aren't a political party. Kids aren't an enemy. Why target kids?? What possible quarrel could anybody have with a bunch of kids at a summer camp??

Then there are a half-dozen or so incidents in the USA where heat-waves, ready availability of weapons, and a complete lack of rational thought, all come together, leaving a couple of people dead and several more people injured.

And an incredibly talented but deeply troubled young woman, battling addictions, hampered by mental health issues, and seemingly incapable of being helped, or prevented from throwing her life away, died far too soon.

A sad week all round.

Kids are the Hope for our future and I feel he took that...

As for heatwaves...I am only happy to be in my damp and colder part of the country. And morons with guns don't get me started. Two words Gun Control.

As for talent leaving early...Truly sad...she was her own downfall and yet she deserved better.
