Goodbye Summer

Though the weather has turned hot & sunny again (after a cold, wet July & August) the nights are drawing in, and I'm having to get up in the dark in the morning.

The swifts are long gone, the swallows have gone (except for a lone half-dozen from the second hatching, and they'll be gone soon, they're almost big enough). Even the house martins have gone.

I love autumn, for the colours and the Michaelmas Daisies. And I love winter (Yay!! Christmas!!). But I'm still sad when summer ends.
