On Voting

Tomorrow is the day that Marty McFly is due to arrive, in his future, in the movie Back to the Future II. So... why don't I have a hoverboard??

Speaking of films, I went to see Suffragette at the weekend. There wasn't much in it that I didn't already know, having been a fan of the BBC series Shoulder to Shoulder years ago. But it was a pretty decent movie.

It did, of course, make me annoyed (again) about those people who don't vote. With everything those men and women, who fought for universal suffrage, went through... and then to have people not vote...

And please - I don't want to hear that "If voting changed anything they'd ban it" rubbish. Because having the ability to vote does change things. If you doubt that the go to see the film, see how few rights women had, then read the credits and see what changed after women got the vote...

If you want things to change - do something about it. When there's an election - vote. When there's a referendum - vote. Vote for what you believe in. Because the "other side" certainly will.
