Still Warm

It's still warm & sunny.

In fact it's so warm that yesterday and today I left a wrapped-up bottle of frozen water in the hutch for Arctic and Polar.

Unfortunately they don't seem to understand its purpose. Whereas Snow knew what it was for and would quite happily drape herself over it to stay cool, neither Arctic or Polar has a clue. They seem to think it's a new toy. They worry it, push it, roll it and generally fidget with it until they get the wrapping off, which they then proceed to drag across the cage a dump into the food bowl.

Then they retreat to their sleeping chamber.

I took a peek in, and at least they are sleeping on top of their blankets not burrowed into them. They were all cuddled up together, looking unbelievably cute.

I took photos.

I must post some of them up on Photobucket for you.

Easy

Our easy days continue on. Did a few chores but nothing much. A cooler day with some heavy rain. Not good for Tamara's intended carpet cleaning day. We need warmer weather where we can open the windows up to dry the carpet. Today was not that day. Maybe tomorrow, but if following our weather report Thursday may be our day.

On tap for tomorrow is some baking with my daughter who is donating some baked goods to her grandmother's church event.

Here is hoping the week is going well for you. Enjoy the updates.

Vacation Days

We had another lazy day. I took Cal to get his hair cut. After lunch E and I vacuumed out the cars. Sadly the weather is currently a tad chilly and threatening rain so we didn't wash the cars. That's on the agenda for this week as soon as the sun shines.

Tomorrow we won't be sleeping in too much. E must take little e to visit Shorecrest High School. She'll be attending a few classes with a friend. This is to prepare her to make her final decision about where to attend high school next year.

Cal has school this week. His Spring break is next week. This means no sleeping in for me. I'll need to get Cal's butt moving. But rather than driving to work I can then crawl back into bed. Lovely.

Monday my plan is to clean the living room carpet. Then while it's drying, be a slug.

Flawless Saturday

We had a good start to the weekend. It was fairly restful and definitely easy and hooray! only the first day of vacation. More of the same awaits us tomorrow. Hope the weekend had a good start in your land.

Enjoy those updates.

Peace, Health and Happiness.

Vacation Is on the Horizon

Our weather like Ze's has been splendid. And Tomorrow is the last day of work before vacation for me. This makes me very happy.

Here is hoping you all have a good week. Ze's updates the last few days should be enough to keep you all busy for a while.

Enjoy!

Peace, Health and Happiness.

Warm But Tiring

Well, there you go. That's my updates for another week. Plenty for you to read.

The weather is still brilliant. Very sunny and almost hot enough for summer.

And I'm dog tired because it is hot and I'm working extra hours to raise enough money to get to the GCLS Conference.

So I'll just say Arctic and Polar are fit & well and getting into as much mischief as they possibly can.

See you next week. Goodnight and may your God/s go with you

What Would the British Talk About...

If we couldn't talk about the weather

Easter was indeed glorious weather-wise.

Good Friday not so much, but Saturday, Sunday, and Bank Holiday Monday were gorgeous. Warm, sunny. Given the previous week's weather it felt as though we'd jumped from winter to summer by passing spring completely.

And there were Hot Cross Buns.

Shame I had to work. (I needed the money.)

One Down

This week I'm counting down to spring break. I'm going to enjoy sleeping in, cleaning out my car, inputting comics into my database, and shampooing the carpet in the living room. Yes, I live a wild life.

Easter Sunday

Being from an atheist background I'm amazed how many Easter baskets I got growing up. My mom would outdo herself finding nifty little things that would go in some really nice baskets. As a kid the basket itself was unimportant, but looking back I see how my mom collected them all through the years. She had some great baskets.

I got a lot of nifty stuffed animals and books. We three girls would get one set of candy, but it was the other stuff that interested me most. For years I had no idea that the holiday was something other than about rabbits.

Whatever you celebrate (or not) here is hoping it was splendid. Good luck on the upcoming work week. For our family one week until spring break is something grand to look forward to.

An Eggscellent Weekend

I've enjoyed not being in downtown Seattle today. Cal is there with his dad at Sakura Con. I'm very happy Mike likes to go to cons. I'd be one wiped puppy after working all week and then going to another con all weekend. I could handle it if there were a few weeks in between ECCC and SakuraCon.

While Mike and Cal were walking their feet off today we took it easy. E did her money, I did mine and little e did homework. Then around 2:30 we went to little e's Ultimate Frisbee game, which they handily won. Now we're home and winding down for the day.

Tomorrow more low-key relaxing with a trip to the grocery store thrown in.

Happy Friday

And to all of our Jewish readers, Happy Passover! (Ze reminded us to wish all the best.)

Looking forward to sleeping in. The weekend has a rather light schedule and lots of sleep is included on both days.

Enjoy the updates.

Peace, Health and Happiness.

Ahhhh-choo!

My cold is finally wrapping up. Cal also got it but he was about a day behind me in the feeling crappy department. He missed school Monday and is also now on the mend.

I bet you can guess who is being gifted with the cold now. Yep, it's getting a toehold in E. I hope little e can avoid it.

Zephyr Misbehaving

First - in the western Christian traditions this coming weekend is Easter. We wish our readers of those sects a very Happy Easter.

Bit late tonight - got held up at work. These bloody severe gales we've been having since the weekend have delayed us, the wind eased a bit today so we were rushing around, trying to catch up before it started again. It is very windy again now, but nothing like the 60 to 80mph we were having. Can't be more than 25mph or thereabouts.Zephyr, god of the west wind is supposed to be the gentlest of the winds - well he's not behaving the way he should!!

I was glad I'd bought a new hutch for the ferrets, and fixed it to the wall as well. Because the old one (which I haven't broken up yet) blew over and right down the garden!! And at one point I was a bit worried the shed might do the same. Not fun.

It's a bloody cold wind too, which is unusual because it's (mostly) been a west wind, not a north wind. And the poem says that It's a warm wind, the west wind.

Ah well. Easter weekend is supposed to be nice. And there will be hot cross buns...
